THE HEART BEHIND GRACEFULLY HONORED
When my dad, Jim, passed away, I walked into the funeral home expecting to answer questions and be guided through what came next.
We talked about his life, prayer cards, the luncheon, and so many details. But it wasn’t until our pastor asked, “What would you like the order of service to be?” that I realized there was something I hadn’t thought about: how the service itself would unfold.
Who would speak? What scriptures would we read? What music would feel like Dad? How would we bring those pieces together?
In the middle of missing him, I was trying to figure out something I had never done before.
Creating his memorial program became a personal way to honor him. It gave those readings, memories, and meaningful moments a place together—and gave our family something to hold on to afterward.
Gracefully Honored grew from that experience.
My hope is to make this one part of saying goodbye a little gentler. You don’t need to arrive with perfectly organized words or a finished plan. I can help you gather the photographs, organize the details, and create a personal program using the service arrangements you confirm with your pastor, celebrant, or funeral director.
You’ll work directly with me, Denee, with thoughtful attention to the person you love and the details that matter to your family.
This work is dedicated to my dad, Jim. In my sadness, it has given me a way to keep honoring him—and to offer another family the kind of help I would have appreciated.
